Stupid Question Time

Posted in Cameron, Sarah Connor Chronicles, T-888 with tags , on September 15, 2008 by nerdchieftain

OK,

So we know that Vick is a “T-triple-8”, T-888.  And T-888 are “advanced infiltrators” capable of having a “fulfilling” married life.

And there has been debate here before about Chromartie’s model number.  It is not specified so far as I know.

So, it really begs the question, is Cameron a T-888?  Or perhaps a later model?

Season 2 Episode 2

Posted in Nuclear Power, Riley, Safe Word, Sarah Connor Chronicles, Season Two, Siranto Point, Spoilers, T1000 with tags , , on September 15, 2008 by nerdchieftain

This was a very special SCC for me, as my brother, who is without cable due to Hurriance Ike in Cincinnati, came over to watch.  It was a big event.

Today John met Riley, who slept over.  Interesting innocent twist.  I like how Riley is cool.

Sarah Connor narrowly adverted lethal radiation exposure and Cancer.  (If she had gotten cancer, it would have been seriously lame!)

And the T1000 roaming around with the Connors made a powerplay to automate the powerplant at Siranto Serrano Point, which will be the future rebel base.  Looks like this battle of Siranto  Serrano Point is lost to the machines.

My favorite part of the episode is the Baums (Sarah, John, Cameron, and Derek) now use a safe word to code in on the phone:  Current Day, Current Month.

Riley is in on the plan, so that is a potential security risk if she is compromised.

Question for debate: is Morris, the Latino friend, Emo?  Just want to be accurate.

Season One Marathon

Posted in Cameron, Love Story, Sarah Connor Chronicles, Season One with tags , on September 12, 2008 by nerdchieftain

So my season one Marathon has been this week after the Premiere episode.  Season One was backordered on Blu-ray, so I had to wait.

Early in the show, I was very excited about the possibilities of John and Cameron developing a deep and meaningful relationship, possibly even love.  My fellow terminerds and I debated whether Cameron was a fully-equipped infiltrator like the T888, which married the woman who built ARTIE.  Terms like “pleasure terminator” and “terminatrix” were discussed.  But for me, a very interesting, thought provoking theme in the show is the question of the human soul and what that spark is, and if a machine could possess it.

Wow.  What a rocking first episode.  Full of twists and turns.

I am a little uneasy about Cameron being unreliable.  It’s too much tension for me.  I would rather know who the good guys are, who are the bad guys.  I hope this story line concludes with her repair.

Speaking of bad guys, I really loved the new villain, the Irish (?) female computer corporation CEO (EDIT: Catherine Weaver), who purchased the Turk.  I like the idea that a T1000 reappears, but I kind of wish Skynet was still conceived by and built by human beings, along the theme of the inevitability of our fate.  Nonetheless, this is a very intriguing development.

I was really stressed out in this episode, our heroes were pushed to the edge and then some.

Poor Agent Elison and the burden he has to bear!  I like that we got an answer why Chromartie let him live — to lead Chromartie to the Connors.

Most Memorable Moment in the Season Finale

Posted in Agent Ellison, Agent Kester, Chromartie, Cloyd Dixon, Derek Reese, Kyle Reese, Sarah Connor Chronicles, Season One, Spoilers with tags on March 10, 2008 by nerdchieftain

I like how the Season Finale contained lots of character development and the characters make some kind of peace with each other.  Derek exposed Cameron’s deception about keeping the chip and I breathed a sigh of relief as ThisSalesman’s prediction that Cameron had a secret evil motive.  At least this time.

I nominate two moments in the season finale as having epic cinematic quality.

The first moment was when Derek took John to fulfill his ultimate desire for his birthday: meeting his father.  That snuck up on me.  I recognized Derek and Reese in the park early, but I didn’t see the, “Happy Birthday, John,” coming.  I have to say this human moment for Derek was important for me to consider him… well human and trustworthy.  Speaking of which, I don’t share John’s sentiment that he was telling the truth about not knowing whom his men were trailing.

The second moment was when Agent Ellison lead a team of FBI agents to arrest the Chromartie aka “Agent Kester” Terminator.  The shot from underwater of the Agents falling into the pool as the sounds of combat flared really lend a great sense of despair and hopelessness to the, well, hopeless situation.

Upon watching the season finale a second time on fox on demand, I realized how much potential there is in bringing Agent Ellison and Cloyd Dixon together after the disaster.  Ellison has more than just reasons to believe.  He will have retribution on his mind.  And… Cloyd can take him to Sarah Connor now that he is really ready to believe.
